The
University of the Americas Puebla (UDLAP) is a private institution of higher
education dedicated to achieving a level of excellence in teaching, research
and consulting, thus foreseeing and responding to the needs of both business
and society. It offers a wide variety of academic programs that reflect the
diversity and richness of human knowledge. Our programs excel because of the
credentials and experience of our faculty, of the research projects and
artistic creations developed in our campus, and of the exchange programs we
have with more than 200 universities around the world. The institution offers
general education courses so that students can learn and handle a second
language (English), strengthen their drafting skills, develop critical thinking
and expand their knowledge beyond the scope of their respective programs. Our
learning methodology promotes a comprehensive view of culture and knowledge, all
while developing the capabilities of our students to act responsibly and
ethically in an increasingly complex and diverse world. The
aim of the School of Business and Economics (“The School”) is to shape
enterprising professionals and well-trained leaders with the capabilities and knowledge, which will
allow them to succeed in the business world, as they meet new challenges and
demands faced by organizations. The mission of the school is to provide
students with a world-class education, relevant experience for the workplace,
international exposure and perceptiveness of other cultures, and to develop an
entrepreneurial spirit throughout their studies. The School has its origins in Mexico
City College, a liberal arts college established in Mexico City over seventy
years ago. In the Cholula campus, founded in 1970, the School began its
operations offering undergraduate and graduate programs in the field of
Business Administration. Over time, new programs emerged in response to the
needs of the business sector. Currently, the School offers undergraduate programs
in Business Administration, Marketing, Information Technologies and Business,
Finance and Accounting, Hotel and Restaurant Management, International Business
Administration, Economics, and Banking and Investments.
The
School strives to maintain an innovative and dynamic management approach to develop
leaders who are capable of and dedicated to, not only serving the needs of the
business community and society, but bringing about change for the well-being of
all. The School’s graduates will confidently
face the ever-growing challenges present in a globalized and changing business
environment with a sense of social commitment and responsibility. Our
institution strives to maintain an enduring reputation as the benchmark for
business schools of private universities in Mexico and throughout Latin
America. To maintain these high standards of academic quality, the School has a
pool of professors with wide professional and teaching experience, who are
constantly updating their knowledge in their respective fields through research
activities, international faculty alliances and participation in conferences
around the world. The
School of Business and Economics currently enrols 2,200 students at the
undergraduate and master degree levels. It graduates nearly 350 professionals
every year, and the alumni, thanks to their capabilities, leadership and
international focus of education, occupy prestigious positions in sectors
related to their areas of study. The School offers undergraduate programs
designed to provide an integral formation in the various administrative areas
of business, emphasizing an intercultural environment, academic exchanges and
double-degree diplomas with recognized partner universities from the consortium
of International Partnership of Business Schools (IPBS), along with the
development of professional internships. At a graduate level, the School of
Business and Economics offers a Masters in Business Administration (MBA), in Financial
Management, and in Marketing and International Business. In conjunction with
IPBS universities, the School offers an innovative Masters in International
Management (MIM), in which the first portion of the program is delivered on the
UDLAP campus after which students go on to one of the partner universities in
Europe to complete their studies and receive their degrees. Distance learning programs at the graduate
level include a Masters in Business Administration (MBA), in Corporate Finance,
and in Management of Information Technologies. We
aim to help students develop a multidisciplinary knowledge, critical thinking
skills, resolution of complex problems/decisions, information technology
competences, quantitative skills, an innovative and entrepreneurial spirit, a cross-cultural
knowledge and an ethical and socially responsible approach to national and
international business issues. All
the faculties of the UDLAP are fully accredited by SACS (Southern Association
of Colleges and Schools). For more information, you can visit our web site at: www.udlap.mx |
